MIRACLES
(Part-2)

PROTECTION FROM THE RAIN: Once during rainy season Namdar Khan Saheb, a military officer and one of Hazrath’s favourite disciples took permission from Hazrath to leave to Hingoli. But Hazrath asked "Do you want to leave in this heavy rain and face hardship?" Namdar Khan Saheb replied "peer-o-Murshid we are soldiers and soldiers will have to tolerate hot sun and heavy rain. To this Hazrath said, "I do not like you to get soaked in the heavy rain and face hardship. However with Hazrath’s permission and blessings, Namdar Khan Saheb left for Hingoli. It started raining, but there was no rain about a yard around him. On the way casually he was accompanied by a Brahmin. He was also safe from the rain along with him. The Brahmin said to Namdar Khan Saheb "you are a saint. Though it is raining around us but we are nor soaked". To this, very humbly, Namdar Khan Saheb replied, "May you be a saint and because of your presence we are not soaked." They continued their journey and halted in a village. While Khan Saheb was taking rest the Brahmin went to the Bazar. When he returned back he was completely drenched in rainwater. Then he was sure that they had been protected from rain due to the holy presence of Khan Saheb. He said to Namdar Khan Saheb "Now I am sure that it is your miracle." It was a miracle and blessings of Hazrath Afzal Biabani (R.A.).

WATER BURNT LIKE OIL: Once Hazrath was returning from Alwal in the palanquin (Palki) after meeting Raja Kalika Prasad, the nephew of Raja Chandulal (the then Prime Minister of Hyderabad State). His beloved son Hazrath Sarwar Biabani accompanied him. On the way the oil in the mashaal (Torches) was exhausted and they had to stop. In those days, during nights journey without light was prohibited in the British province. Hazrath ordered his followers to pour the water on the Mashaals from his water pot as there was no other arrangement. The Mashaals were re-flamed. Hazrath Sarwar Biabani said that the water poured on the mashaals was burning like oil. They continued their journey and reached their residence in Hyderabad. There the Qawwals were present. As soon as Hazrath reached there, they started Qawwali. The mashaals were installed in the courtyard (Sahen). Through out the night the mashaals were continued burning with water poured from Hazrath’s pot.

SEPARATION OF OWN SPIRIT: This is one of the most important miracles of Hazrath. One day he was sitting with his disciples (mureeds) at his residence. Hazrath separated his holy spirit from his body, which was very identical to Hazrath. It sat before him. The only difference was a mark on his nose which was not present on the holy spirit. People asked Hazrath who he was? Hazrath replied he was a slave of Allah. After sometime the spirit started walking. People followed it, but it disappeared behind the wall.

TREES BOWED TO OFFER SAJDA: One day Hazrath asked Namdar Khan Saheb, a disciple, to follow him. They went to "Tadban" (a forest full of palm trees). He asked his disciple whether he would be afraid of seeing him offering Namaz. He said no". hazrath marked a circle round him and instructed not to go out of it. Hazrath offered Namaz. When Hazrath bowed down to offer ‘Sajda’ the palm trees around him also bowed as if they too were offering Namaz with Hazrath. Namdar Khan Saheb was surprised on seeing it. After the Namaz they left for their residence.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION: According to Muslim customs, a dead body is buried. After death, the face of a pious person turns towards Ka’aba by itself. As customary the face should be turned to the west i.e., Qible (Ka’aba Shareef) otherwise. When, one of Hazrath’s sons Hazrath Syed Ghulam Dawood Biabani Saheb died, his face was not in direction of Ka’aba Shareef but in the opposite direction. This was observed by Mohammad Lutfullah Saheb, the then superintendent of police, warangal. He was surprised and asked Hazrath, how come the face of the holy person’s son like him did not turn towards Ka’aba Shareef. Hazrath got down into the grave and prayed "Ya Allah, I have forgiven him and am pleased with him. Even you forgive and be pleased with him". Immediately his face turned towards Ka’aba Sahreef by itself. It means Hazrath Dawood Biabani achieved salvation. After reading this incident we can make out the position of our parents. If any parent is not pleased by his children’s deeds and attitude, even Allah Ta’ala is displeased.

CURTAIN OF SAFETY: Mr. Macanzy, the army chief at Bolaram, in Secunderabad, banned the beating of drums and carrying Alam mubarak in a procession in the military area during the month of Moharram. People who did not know about the strict orders, took out the procession of Alam mubarak in front of Mr. Macanzy’s bungalow, by beating drums, when Mr.Macanzy came to know, he was furious as he thought that they delebrately voilated his orders. He called them and broke their drums and abused them. This news spread like wild fire. The Muslims thought, Mr.Macanzy had insulted Islam. About 300 people attacked him at his bungalow. They damaged most of his articles and destroyed his lawn. They beat Macanzy, mercilessly until he fainted. They thought that he was dead. His wife escaped somehow and informed the matter to the resident of Hyderabad.

This resident of hyderabad ordered the bolaram army to surround the risala contingent, which consisted of Muslim soldiers. There was a rumour in the air that the entire contingent would be blasted by the Bolaram army. Instead of surrendering themselves to army the Risala men decided to fight against it untill their death. As it was a religious issue, though they were armed and furious, they decided to defend themselves incase of the British Army’s attack. The British army also was in the same situation. As it was waiting for the Risala contingent to take the first step against them. There were a number of disciples of Hazrath, working as soldiers and officers in Risala contingent. Mirza Zulfan Baig was one of them. He was very close to Hazrath. So all of them requested Zulfan Baig to pray to get rid of that situation. Mirza Zulfan Baig prayed with full concentration and humbleness for peace and safety. He saught the help of Hazrath by remembering him. During the prayer he was drowsy for some time. He saw Hazrath had arrived at Bolaram and was saying, he would tie a curtain between Risala contingent and the army of Bolaram for their safety. Allah is gracious. He would keep them safe. After his dream Zulfan Baig was confident that Allah would help them as the blessings of Hazrath were with them. All of a sudden the British army ran away leaving behind their belongings. It was revealed afterwards that the British army saw the Risala contingent soldiers attacking them from all corners. For fear of defeat they started running. At the time some of the disciples saw Hazrath standing with a sword in a corner in Macanzy’s garden. After few days, when Mirza Zulfan Baig met Hazrath at Kazipet, Hazrath said that by the grace of Allah, the resident, Davidson had favoured them and they were saved.
