HAZRATH SYED SHAH GULAM HUSSAIN BIABANI (R.A.)
Grand Father of Hazrath Afzal Biabani (R.A.)

He was a perfect sufi-saint. To discharge the duties of Qazi of Warangal, he resided at Hanamkonda. By renouncing the worldly things, he used to live in retreat, most of the time in a state of intuition and ecstacy (wajd).

His mother settled his marriage with the sister of Hazrath Syed Shah Moosa Qadri (R.A.) (a scion of Hazrath Shaik Abdul Qadir Jeelani (R.A.)’s family). Thus relations were established between the two saintly reverend families (i.e. Qadri and Rifayee).

It is said that as per the custom he had wore the clothes made of Gold (Malik Tash) and he gone in a procession to the residence of the bride for ‘Nikah’, on the way he tore off his dress into pieces and distributed them among the beggars and needy persons. At the time he reached the bride’s residence, the gold cloth of the dress was exhausted and only lining of it was left. People advised Hazrath Moosa Qadri (R.A.) to cancel the marriage as it was not good to marry his sister with a mad person. He replied that he was giving his own sister, not of others. After the marriage the bride was brought to the bridegroom’s residence.

He had habit of rambling in the courtyard (sahn) night long invoking Allah, and siting in solitude at bungalow during the day. He did not care for any body except Allah.

Once his wife saw a Tiger in his room and came out of it with fear. When people came to know it, they gathered there to see the tiger. Instead of a tiger, he came out of the room rubbing the eyes. After listening to the matter, he said that his wife might have seen with the sleepy eyes (in drowsiness). It was a miracle. The verses of Hazrath Jaleel are suitable on this situation. “Ali ka ghar bhi kiya ghar hai kayh iss ghar ka her ek, bachcha Jahan paida huwa sher-e-khuda maaloom huta hia.

He went to Raiparthy, a village in Wardhannapet (Tq) in Warangal, it is about 45 kilometers from Dargah Shareef Kazipet. There he said to the people. I have come over here with a shroud (coffin). I am about to die, kindly arrange some place for my grave and inform my relatives at kazipet about my death.

People did not believe it. They thought that he was uttering those words in his madness. His words had come true. He died in the some right. People of Raiparthy village recognised him as a saint and buried him in the premises of the Qutub Shahi Mosque, Raiparthy. His URS shareef is celebrated in the month of Rajab, every year at Raiparthy.
